Win an EasyBlog 5 licence

UPDATE: The contest has been run and won. Congratulations to Arturo. We'll be in touch.

It's contest time! Here's your chance to win yourself a copy of my favourite extension - EasyBlog 5 by StackIdeas.

I was sincerely amazed when the first version of EasyBlog appeared. Finally there was a solid blogging platform available for Joomla. EasyBlog is now up to version 5 and this latest version builds on StackIdeas' reputation for building high quality, versatile extensions.

Every website needs a blog. Blogging was built into Joomla from version 1 and it works quite well. But if you're serious about blogging then EasyBlog is the must-have extension for your site.

The features that we like about EasyBlog are:

  • Easy to Use
  • Responsive Design - your blogs will even look great on mobiles
  • Social Sharing - your blogs can also be published on your favourite social sites
  • Commenting engine - or you can use StackIdeas other commenting engine Komento
  • Team Blogging - if you have a team, you can use Team Blogging to blog about common topics
  • Media Manager - a very powerful Media Manage that allows you to add pictures and videos
  • Access Control - you can limit who can read or edit your blog
  • New EasyBlog 5 Composer - the new Composer is made up of blocks and creating multimedia rich content is now a breeze. You can drag and drop images, audio, photos and even a Youtube block to create your blog post. Or if you prefer, you can also tap and drop the blocks.

Here's how to use the Composer in 5 simple steps:

Easyblog step 2  Easyblog step 1  Easyblog step 3  Easyblog step 4a  Easyblog step 4b1

Here's how to win:

Simply leave a comment below telling us in 200 words or less how using EasyBlog would make your life, well, easier. It might be that you're struggling to keep in content with your customers or your own staff. Or perhaps you're looking for a creative way to share your poetry.

The entry deemed to be the most interesting by StackIdeas and our team will win a 12 month licence to EasyBlog.

Terms and Conditions:

Build a Joomla Website and StackIdeas reserve the right to accept or reject submissions based on our own judgment. Entries must be received by midnight (AEST) Friday 28th Aug 2015. Chance plays no part in the outcome. Prizes will be awarded based solely on their merit as judged by our panel.

In 1990 I went over a cliff in my car, was paralyzed from the neck down, broke my neck, back, hip, legs, had both knees replaced, had cancer, 3 times, 2 heart attacks and a stroke. Through a strong will and the help of my wife Loraine I live a fairly normal life. I created RelaxTRAX - a set of CDs that relieve pain using sound and have written a book that helps people with cancer. I spend my days researching and working to help people in pain and those that have cancer. This blog would help me help others and I could reach more people.

Hi Richard: I have a rapidly growing forum website which uses Joomla, Kunena and several of the StackIdeas programs. I have gone from 0 to almost 2,000 members in a year and a half by leveraging some of the software to get the word out about my site. I don't charge for anything on the site, and we rely solely on donations. Keeping Easyblog in it's newest iteration active will help keep my site online and growing!

I have learned most of what I know about Joomla from your site and Google, and have learned most of what I know about blogging from Stack Ideas.

I look after a Joomla website that helps Scotland's only charity that brings awareness to the Subject of Solvent Abuse. The charity, called L.O.S.T, came about by the death of the founders' son through this addiction. Our aim is to prevent the deaths of more young people by offering education and support services to anyone affected by, or worried about Volatile Solvent Abuse. I would be able to use Easy Blog to try and reach out to those suffering this addiction so they do not feel alone and they could reach out to others who are in a similar frame of mind. Get them into a community that does not shun them. Also the blog could help those of us fortunate not to have this addiction better understand those that do. Solvent abuse can be a silent illness one that is not easily seen and therefore doesn’t attract the help that it so desperately needs. I believe Easy blog would help me/us enormously in our endeavour to ensure that as many people as possible that need our help get it - I for one would sleep easier knowing that I have done everything I could to help. Thanks. Peter

I would like to start/build a radio broadcasting site (probably not practical). Also, a guitar training site - lots of free videos around. Have worked with Joomla for years, on break now (*~*)... Craig

Richard,

I am the founder of an open to anyone community think-tank. Our website is new and still in development. However our community is now in its eighth year. There are thousands of us that participate in discussing issues we all face as people, and we strive to find and promote solutions through civility as a diverse group. One thing we also do that helps our cause is provide community driven in-depth investigations through civilian journalism. We are currently trying to find a solution to move our blog to our new site. As a self-funded organization we have a nearly non-existent budget. I have always been the primary source of funding for our community, but since suffering a stroke in December I no longer can. So I ask that you please consider helping us out with the blog for our website. My apologies for writing such a long comment. I tried to explain our situation as briefly as I can.

Thank you for all you do!

Kindest Regards,
Arturo

I like Joomla very much and would like to study more and more. Joomla became my tools in my ministry for people and our community.

EasyBlog will make thing a lot easy for the many people that edit the website we run. I will also allow the removal of a number of other components as they are built in to easy blog.

We would like to use EasyBlog to make it easier to provide content to our customers. We make Atomic Force Microscopes for research, engineering and education. Our Newsletter is currently running on Joomla core, and it takes a lot of extra steps to get it looking right. We want to make it easier - which is why we'd like to upgrade to EasyBlog.
