I have been asked to update a client's Joomla website, and while I lean more to Wordpress, I went through Richard's free tutorials (which are great by the way, thanks!) and have a good general idea of what I have to do.
In order to get myself up to speed on how the website works and Joomla works, I have been doing some small changes on the back end - changing some font styles and size, updating a photo, changing some text. Then saving those articles and modules, and then popping over to the front end site to see - nothing! Nothing changed and the site looks the same as before.
To be fair, I tackled this on Friday afternoon and when I looked at the site Saturday morning, the changes were there - over 12 hours later. woo! Changes done this morning haven't shown up yet though, so I am monitoring the site throughout the day today to see when and if the changes come through.
I am assuming that this is NOT typical Joomla behaviour, correct?
I did clear some of the caches in Joomla - hopefully that is the right thing to do - but it didn't make any difference. Also cleared caches in my browsers, and launched a new one, but again, no difference.
I have an email into the hosting company - just to see if there are any cache setting on their end that could be causing this slow update behaviour. Is that possible?
Otherwise, I am left wondering if there are any other possible things to try. Thoughts?
