Viewing template positions

Update: this process has changed. See comments below.

In the Build a Joomla Website training, you learn how to view your template positions in Administrator. However there are times when it would be handy to be able to do this quickly in the front-end. You do this by adding ?tp=1 to the end of your home page URL. e.g.

http://www.joomlavideodemo.com/index.php?tp=1

To view other pages, add &tp=1 to the end e.g.

http://www.joomlavideodemo.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5&Itemid=2&tp=1

I found this did not work by just adding the ?tp=1 to the url.
This is what I had to do...
*Log into your Joomla Dashboard
*In the top menu, under Extensions click Template Manager
*In the top right, click the Options button
*Set Preview Module Positions to Enabled and then click Save & Close
Now I can see the positions.
Thanks

That was the process when this post was written (Joomla 1.5). But yes your workflow is correct for current versions. Thanks.
