How to preview Joomla articles

How to preview Joomla articlesWhen writing web content, you often want to preview how an article will appear before it's published. This provides an opportunity to check that everything looks sensible, especially the positioning of images. However Joomla does not provide a preview feature and although there is a workaround, it's a bit clumsy. In this post I demonstrate how to preview Joomla articles using a free extension.

Site Administration Blues

Sad faceA common question we receive is "do I have to install a unique instance of Joomla for every site?" Although there are some multi-site solutions, the majority of Joomla webmasters stick with a single installation per site. That's fine when you have one or two sites, but managing several sites can be a pain. There are also many other features that I would like to see within Administrator. Read on to discover where the problems lie, what features I would like to see and why I'm doing nothing about it.

K2 templates

This week's newsletter will explain how you can get a custom K2 template working for your Joomla website. It's a bit more involved in terms of file manipulation, but we'll look at it from a very general point of view, give you some tips and explain why we think this is a really nice feature. You will need either good knowledge of and access to cPanel or a good command of FTP. You will also need to know a bit about CSS, and remember that you can always get professional help when you need it.

How to create Joomla sliders

This week we’ll take a look at a new slider building extension from Offlajn. It's a pretty nice toy to play with, and while we haven't had it for long enough to become complete experts yet, the benefits are pretty clear if you're wanting to include dynamic content on your website.

How to write killer titles

the-most-overlooked-feature-of-JoomlaThis week is a bit of a combination topic. We are talking a bit about K2 still as we address the topic of titles for your articles, but we're also including some SEO ideas, as well as some basic standards for good writing.
