Website Review: Daniel Kaminsky Attorney

Website Review: Daniel Kaminsky Attorney

A few weeks ago, I invited you to submit your site for a website review. I've plowed through the 58 submissions and have decided that instead of reviewing an entire website, I will concentrate on a few points per site. This will allow me to review more sites and provide general, rather than specific advice, which will be helpful to more people. Our first one is for an attorney named Daniel Kaminsky.

I recommend you change the resolution to HD and watch at full screen

Now since producing this video, the developer has chosen to follow some of my suggestions so if you visit the site, you'll get a different experience to the one you see in the video.

Summary

  1. Redirect the 'non-www' address to 'www'. See our webinar on SEO for Joomla
  2. Make it easy for visitors to dig deeper into your website by placing calls to action "above the fold"
  3. Ensure there is sufficient color contrast

If it was submitted then it is in the list. There are no guarantees that I will do them all, and as there are 57 more to consider, it may take a while.

Thanks Richard, very informative and I agree with most of what you said, however, I think you could have gone further with the comments about readability and the general appearance of the site re colour. I don't think designers can afford to ignore the 1 in 12 person who has some form of colour deficiency in their sight and red and brown are two of the common areas that are confused. With that in mind I would suggest a high contrast colour scheme so that if the viewer cannot distinguish the colour at least its still readable.
Overall, the colour scheme used was overly dark and slightly depressing, I realise that the designer was trying to present a sedate professional profile for the client but to me, it was quite old fashioned and musty. :p

I'm not a web expert - which is why I follow Richard's guidance. But my English is pretty OK; I think you mean "trial success" rather than "trail success" in paragraph 2 of your home page, Dan.
