Recent Migration 1.5.25 - 2.5.4
I have recently completed, or I think completed a Joomla migration from a stable 1.5.25 site to the most recent 2.5.4 Joomla
First I did a complete backup, and using kickstart I installed this on my local PC.
The I did a complete upgrade to the 1.5 template so it would work in 2.5
Then using Jupgrade I upgraded to the most current Joomla, updated extensions/components, and replaced a few extensions that were not compatible any longer.
Then took a backup of new site, and using kickstart again, made it live.
FYI: if you view these sites the sound may be loud. Get ready with mute button or to turn volume low.

An old rule in the construction industry was to work out how much an hour you want / need, then how much work you could do in an hour.
So shovel one tonne of sand in an hour, you want $10.00 an hour theres 20 tonnes to move price is $200.00
It's what competition is founded on, the Guy who can move the 20 tonnes in 10 hours might want $20.00 an hour.
The key in selling anything is to add a little value for the buyer, using the above the man who includes a half hour sweeping up around the sand pit will usually get the job.

Thanks Richard. I think it is ready as far as being what the old site offered and now having the latest Joomla. The Shred Guitar site looked nice. Lots of offerings. Did the owner build it himself? I did see it is Joomla 1.5. Were you suggesting I offer him a Migration service?
I feel I have a great grasp on most things Joomla, but it would seem that my biggest shortfall is being able to sell myself, or my services. How would one decide what a fair price would be to upgrade/Migrate sites for future income?Thanks,

Awesome. There is quite a demand for these migrations so you could earn a second income!
You need to hook up with Leigh Williams who teaches shred guitar. I've spoken to him a couple of times about his Joomla site.
