Problem with localhost and MySQL

0
Good day,
I seem to have had multiple visitors today, one of them being Skype, that unbeknownst to me, has changed some settings on my browser for me, whether I wished it or not - this feels like rape must feel, you know! Who knows what else they did!:(
I have also installed the drivers for a new HP printer, which also meant a lot of linking up by software that did not even notice that I was around - I mean you know - I just got to stand around and twiddle my thumbs - not exciting at all.
In any case, I have been busy finishing off a localhost site development, and am almost on the point of uploading to a server. As I wanted to change something, I tried to access the site or the Administrator, but I only get the following message:
Database connection error (2): Could not connect to MySQL
Can somebody help me, please.:) It's getting on to be nearly midnight here and its freaking cold and I cant seem to find a tag to match my heartache.
Thank you.
JP

    G'day JP!

There's something about a conflict between Skype and Xampp over port 80 or else you have to change Skype to port 80. I'm a bit hazy on it, but that's what you need to research.

    Hi Laurie,
I know exactly what you are talking about, and as a matter of fact busy looking it up, to see if it's the problem.
Thank you for the reply. Appreciated.:D

Well Laurie, as you'd probably known, I could not go sleep before sorting out the problem, and you were right, it was that setting gone wrong again. Everything is fine and I'm a happy boy on the way to dreamland.:D:D:D
