Yeah, saw that - and a post of yours elsewhere. This forum never seems to have rendered 100% correctly, so I suppose change is inevitable.
Let's hope it's for the better.

Richard - apologies. That came out all bitter and twisted - which had absolutely nothing to do with you or Kunena (well - not all of it!). But excuse me while I tell what it was that caused such a sense of humour failure.
French bureaucracy is renowned for its obduracy, idiocy and omni-presence. You can't do anything here without a piece of paper to authorise it. So - having spent some 2 hours filling in an 'online' application I was told, when completed, to print off 2 copies and post them! Unbelievable!
This morning I received a letter saying the forms had not been completed properly and if they were not re-completed correctly and returned by the 8th June, my application would need to be restarted. A letter - printed on coloured letterhead and with a stamp and everything. What did that cost? And why a letter - they'd already acknowledged initial receipt by email!
Now, get this, nowhere in this expensive letter did it indicate what had been left out or what needed correcting (this was a 6 page form incidentally). The only 'phone number they have is, get this, premium rate! So muggins rings up to ask what it is they should have put in their letter, spends 10 minutes in a queue (your call is important to us, please wait as one of our staff will be with you as soon as possible) at 0.15 cents/minute to find that whilst I had signed 8 of the 9 requested pages (I didn't tell you about the supplementaries needed to prove identity, health care insurance and proof of residence - HOW long have I been paying taxes here!!) I had apparently omitted a single signature form page no.3. More fool me.
When I pointed out that perhaps it would have been a good idea to: -
[ul]
[li]a) have sent an email which would have been much cheaper[/li]
[li]b) that having sent a letter, wouldn't it have been a good idea to have told me what I needed to correct. Which would have...[/li]
[li]c) saved me an expensive 'phone call and her the interruption to her day[/li]
[/ul]
At that point I was told she wasn't prepared to stand for that sort of abuse and she promptly hung up!
Once I had been peeled off the ceiling, I took up my splitting maul and spent an hour smashing frenziedly at my log pile.
So - if you ever have cause to deal with URSSAF in France, be aware that they are a useless bunch of incompetent, idle, overpaid and underworked idiots and that any thought you may have of started a business here, employing ANYone or making any form of contribution WHATSOEVER to the French economy is to be discouraged in every way possible. I love this country and many of the people who live in it - but the French state just beggars belief.
Forgive me - but that does feel slightly better.

And I thought we were over-governed!
I had to look up obduracy. That's now my word of the day.
I see that the new forum has ignored your BBCode from the old forum. Guess that's going to be my first support request.1 vote by ghanlon -
Ah! Looking great, Mate!

I can't help my self but to try an image. Hear goes:

Well, it's got the external image link alright. The images that I wish to upload are at the bottom of the page. We'll soon see if it will upload and display them.1 vote by ghanlonAdventurer - Photographer - Web Builder

A good place to mess about and learn a bit, I'd say, Ghanlon. I suppose the whole thread can be removed later if it becomes too much of a mess.
Richard, what file types can be uploaded?
Maximum file size and image size for images?
Tags don't seem to be working.
I see we can ad a comment to a particular post rather than only reply at the bottom of the thread.
I'm not getting any e-mail notifications. Guess I need to go right through my profile.-
Hmm ... Thought I had answered this. Upload can be up to 2MB. Images types and zip are accepted. Tags work but you need to hit enter when creating them.
The email corn didn't seem to work so I am using a different method. Should be coming through now.

Ian... not sure why you thought you had lost your sense of humour... I was in fact regaled by your tale of "Muggins and The Incompetents"..

it made my morning as a matter of fact... although to think that your french government is the pole setter in incompetence may show a bit of insularity on your part... we have some prime candidates over here in the Great White North too!
And to only spend 10 minutes in queue is a luxury... luxury I say!... why, when I try to reach an official...

Thanks Dan - shock follow-up!! I received my registration number (which was what all the paperwork was for) BEFORE I sent off another version of the form. Left hand - have you met right hand? No? Thought not!
I am finding this new forum a bit grisly though. I've been too busy to find my way around properly and it feels very unfamiliar.

Well, I've put a good bit of effort into it and find several things pretty clunky.Adventurer - Photographer - Web Builder
