Hi everyone

I have been asked to build a website for a holiday letting. I need to include a calendar connected to a booking form which can be completed online.

Has anyone used an extension that does this that they could recommend?

Many thanks

Sue

    Hi Sue

We weren't due any support at all with the free version, but Chris was incredibly helpful (a problem with accents in his Mini Calendar extension). If you have read the documentation (which is excellent) and tried to solve a problem yourself, then in my experience he'll be very helpful if you get stuck.

I don't think you'll have too many problems. If you are letting whole weeks as a basic time unit, inputting prices is simple. You set the time period (say Sat to Sat) and the price and that is input for all the weeks in the time period you have specified. Unfortunately for me, we let by the weekend so have to input each individual price, which is a little more long winded!

    Hi Ian

Thanks for your reply - Thats just the sort of recommendation I wanted... its good to hear from someone that has used the extension. I was very keen on Rentalot anyway and as my client will be paying will be happy to get the Rentalot + version!! The only thing thats holding me back as they say you only get one support query with the 1 year version which is what I'd have to go for.

    Hi Sue

Have a look at Rentalot and Rentalot Plus.

I've used the former on our village website (www.champduboult.com) and it works well for us. The developer, Chris Gaebler, is a very helpfull guy which helps! The Plus version you pay for, the other is free.

    Hi Robert

Thanks for your reply to my post.

I have had a quick look at the demo for Jomres and it does look impressive but some of the comments say its a bit complicated. I only want to advertise one villa on the site so I'm not sure it would be suitablefor that and it says that to add certain features you have to buy the plug ins anyway.

I've also had a quick look at an extension by Rentalot who do a free extension but also have a commercial extension which has unlimited downloads. Upgrades are limited but they seem to allow a reasonable number in the package.

I just wondered if anyone had used any of these extensions as its always good to know before diving in!
