Congrats Dan! That's awesome. So cool to see so many people using this knowledge in business for themselves.

Vimeo is great for many people. I also think the quality of their streaming is quite good, although it does get choppy sometimes as server load gets heavy. Still a great option.

You could also look into hosting the videos on Amazon or some other cloud service and serving the content over a CDN (Content Delivery Network). It's what the big boys like Netflix and everyone do. It's become VERY affordable though for "normal" people on a smaller scale. It's a great way to keep control and still have the videos stream really well and not eat your budget in a day.

Google that if it sounds interesting. Otherwise...have fun. I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Have been taking a serious look at Vimeo today and it looks very good indeed. The quality of videos is top notch. Their security features seem top notch. Only trouble is that because of the nature of my site (partially I commercial) I will have to go with the pro version which will be a setback of about $200... It doesn't do much more than the Plus version at $60 ,... Oh it's good to be in business!

Anyway... Their response time to question I have had has been exemplary... To be commended for sure. Wll probably start to do some filming soon and then cant wait to start uploading. Stay tuned!

from what I've been reading YouTube will get a ton more hits, but I'm not so concerned about random hits as I am about finding a host for my videos that is relatively safe and secure... Vimeo kinda sounds like that but depends on who is doing the review... its also more costly... but for the security they appear to provide that may not be a problem... Not sure if Richard uses a host like that or simply keeps it all on his own server but I'm trying to do something along his lines...

I anticipate having some "teaser' material out there, but the more I get into the coaching material for more competitive bowlers and coaches the more I think I shouldn't simply be giving it all away... and while I wouldn't be charging all that much for a yearly coaching membership to my site its nice of those who do become part of it can be assured that they are not paying for something that everyone else in the world has access to... which is what would concern me about both YouTube and DailyMotion... Vimeo has an option for showing the videos only from my own site (while at the same time hosting them at vimeo)... fee is only $59/yr for that Plus Option while the Pro option is $199/yr... Pro is supposed to be the business option whereas Plus is an upgrade to the Basic... still looking at the list of differences to see why the Pro is necessary though

Much better not to upload to your site - you're right about the bandwidth.

I think this is easier to accomplish with providers other than YouTube - like Vimeo http://vimeo.com/help/faq/privacy. I'd check out DailyMotion too and Google YouTube alternatives.
