This week the Joomla! Project released a security update for the Joomla 3 series. This update addresses a low priority XSS vulnerability in the Joomla Core as well as introducing a new feature and fixing 47 tracker issues.

It's important to note that those updating from 3.0.0 will need to first apply a Hot Patch before updating to 3.0.1. The announcement posted on Joomla.org also mentions the fact that users must make sure that the Update server in the Joomla! Update component is set to "Short Term Support" in order to make the Joomla 3.0 updates visible.

I was eagerly waiting for Joomla 3.0 version update and plan to install it soon. My website uses joomla 2.5. Do I need to switch or wait for further stable versions although I really wanted to upgrade. Any Suggestions?
